Wilsonjones Landscapes lays patios, paths, steps and driveways in porcelain, natural sandstone, sawn stone, block paving and setts. A patio only lasts if the work underneath is right, so each one starts with digging out to the right depth, a compacted sub-base and a gentle fall away from the house so rainwater runs off and has somewhere to go. The slabs are then laid and pointed, with coping, edging and steps finished to match.
The detailing makes a big difference: a band of setts or cobbles between sawn stone planks, a border around the edge, or steps that line up with the back door. Steve also re-points tired paving and replaces old decks with a new patio. Driveways and parking areas can be block paved or gravelled, with edging to keep the stones in place.
